Egg in the bottle based on the principle of air pressure. The burning paper, however, heats the air inside the bottle. This causes the air inside to expand. When the egg is placed on top of the bottle, it seals the bottle, and the fire eventually goes out. ... Ginnie in the bottle was based ont Manganese Dioxide acts as a catalyst to decompose the Hydrogen Peroxide which releases oxygen, water, and heat energy. The amount of energy given off in this very exothermic reaction is sufficient to cause the water to boil. The gas molecules of the water move rapidly producing a white cloud of steam.
